POSITION OVERVIEW: Expertise in Database Analysis of Microsoft SQL databases is a requirement of this position. Responsibilities will encompass an enterprise wide scope in terms of managing, defining and controlling corporate data assets and providing support for data access, data definition and data management. This role will include data modeling, data definition and data access services. Desirable talents include the ability to work with business analysts to develop and execute data migration plans, institute and administer data management procedures and support and rectify daily operational production issues. Expertise in mentoring and working with the other DBAs in the group in both the technology and use of internal tools and data trends. Other duties will include working with other groups in the organization to define data architecture. Required Skills: -Minimum of 5 years of data architecture and BI integration experience. -Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008. -Expertise in designing and creating complex SSIS based programs. -Experience in C# scripting focused on data manipulation and transformation. -Technical knowledge of MS SQL Server internals with emphasis on query performance. -Experience maintaining Data Naming and Data Definition Standards. -Create & Maintain Conceptual & Logical Data Models on Data Projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLILITIES: -Interact with and coach developers in SQL scripting and database schema. -Create and debug stored procedures in cooperation with application developers. -Define, recommend appropriate Data Sources on Data Projects. -Maintain Data Naming and Data Definition Standards. -Enforce and support published data promotion standards. -Create and debug views and SQL functions to support data and application access. -Work with the Physical DBA to create & manage physical databases. -Work with the Physical DBA to address data performance and data consistency problems. -Adhere to corporate ethics policies with regards to confidentiality of information. -Contribute to departmental performance by completing other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: -Reports to Data Management Manager. -Works with minimal supervision. -Works in close cooperation with other data team members. -Works closely with PMO and business teams. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: -Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of data management activities. -Strong problem solving and analytical skills. -Five or more years of database administration (DBA with SQL 2000/2005/2008). -2 + years practical experience constructing SSIS and in data modeling techniques including data normalization, conceptual, logical and physical database design. -Demonstrated proficiency with SQL DB programming and design. -Strong understanding of OLAP, Datasets, Installing/Designing and Tuning Database Software/Infrastructure, and browser-based programming. -Experience with conversion of MS SQL databases from 2000 and 2005 to 2008R2. -Requires a bachelors degree with emphasis in computer science. Soft Skills: -Business knowledge consumer goods preferred. -Continued education in technical field preferred. -Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills. -Good written and verbal skills.
