Our client in Waterbury, CT is looking for a Level II Support Professional for a consult to hire opportunity. 

DETAILS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Respond promptly to staff, faculty and students for troubleshooting, hardware, software and password assistance, and general tech support as issues arise. 

2. Respond to and log all tech support requests in Helpbox to track maintenance needs and volume. 
3. Responsible for the uptime, performance and overall health of all infrastructure of University Systems. 
4. Design, troubleshoot, and maintain all aspects of the network infrastructure 
5. Contribute to establishing processes and procedures that support security, disaster recovery, business continuity, and quality of the information technology infrastructure
6. Design, analyze and identify new opportunities to improve information technology service delivery and implement new technology 
7. Maintain Microsoft Servers: Exchange 2010, Active Directory, Backup Exec, Ghost, Print server
8. Responsible for installing and configuring new PCs (Windows XP/7), adding these PCs to an Active Directory Domain, and DNS 
9. Install and configure desktop software as needed 
10. Manage Antivirus software and assist users with applications and troubleshooting hardware 
11. Manage daily backup jobs to ensure min risk to corporate information assets 
12. Manage and track network equipment assets 
13. Document network configurations 
14. Manage daily network operations 
15. Monitor and report network operations; usage, capacity, change management 
16. Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications 
17. Maintain, inventory, suggest repair, storage or replacement of equipment 
18. Communicate with staff, faculty and students regarding student technology needs and problems, as well as scheduling needs.
19. Follow all rules and regulations concerning staff conduct, appropriate dress, program procedures, and specific responsibilities as set forth in the Staff Handbook.
20. Performs related work as required or as delegated by supervisor(s).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Experience with configuring and maintaining VMware
2. Hardware upgrades such as email systems, servers, backup systems, network storage, vpn/firewall/routers, power systems, etc.
3. Upgrades to Windows server, exchange, backup and antivirus software application.
4. This position requires a flexible schedule and some evening and weekend hours to meet the operational needs of the ICT Office.
